MEET ROB GARCIA
NEW LEADERSHIP TO DELIVER RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Rob Garcia brings a fresh face, renewed energy, and a wealth of experience to the House of Delegates race. While he may be new to this particular campaign, public service has long been a part of his family’s legacy, with generations contributing to local, county, and state government.
Rob is the youngest of six children and was raised in a strong working-class family where hard work, respect, honor, and service to both country and community were core values. His father, Manuel Garcia, served our nation in the United States Navy during World War II and later dedicated 16 years of service to the citizens of Fairmont as a member of the Fairmont City Council. The Garcia family has a long tradition of compassion, civic engagement, and making positive contributions to the communities they call home.
Rob exemplifies the spirit of public service and the values of West Virginia’s working families. A graduate of Fairmont Senior High School, he entered the workforce immediately after graduation and began working at the Loveridge No. 22 Mine in Fairview, West Virginia, an underground coal mining operation owned by Consol Energy. During his time in the mines, he became a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America and gained firsthand experience with the challenges and values of West Virginia’s working families.
Following a layoff from the mining industry, Rob continued pursuing new opportunities. He earned an Associate Degree in Business from Fairmont State University and then began a career as a Class A Lineman with Mon Power, a FirstEnergy company. Over the course of 30 years, he built a reputation for hard work, professionalism, and dedication before retiring from the company. Today, he continues to share his expertise by providing annual safety training for FirstEnergy employees.
Following in his family’s tradition of service, Rob has devoted himself to serving others. He was elected to the Fairmont City Council, where he served for five and a half years, including two years as Deputy Mayor. During his tenure, he also served on the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, and the Marion County Parks and Recreation Commission.
Rob’s commitment to community service extends well beyond elected office. He is a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer for Relay for Life and the United Way, a member of Lions Club HOPE, the Sons of Italy, and has served as an advisor to Women on Wellness. Rob is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Stonewood where he lectors and is a member of the choir. He is a graduate and alumni member of the FBI Citizens Academy and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival and the Clarksburg Columbian Club.

Rob is the proud father of two children, Jenna and Joel, and a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren: Braylon, Gianna, Grayson, Lincoln, and Nico. Throughout his children’s youth, Rob was actively involved in their lives and in the community, volunteering as a coach for recreational soccer, T-ball, and grade school and middle school basketball programs. He coached young athletes in both the Marion County public school system and at Fairmont Catholic, helping instill the values of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and hard work in the next generation.
Public service runs deep throughout the Garcia family. His sisters, Patty and Sue, along with his niece, Cassie, have dedicated their careers to education. His brother, Rick Garcia, has served the citizens of Marion County as a County Commissioner and currently serves in the West Virginia House of Delegates.

His nephew, Michael Garcia, proudly represented West Virginia as the WVU Mountaineer mascot for two consecutive years and now serves as the State Public Affairs Officer for the West Virginia National Guard. Another nephew, Joey D. Garcia, has built a distinguished career in both public service and law. He served as Director of Legislative Affairs under Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, worked extensively on criminal justice reform initiatives, represented the Governor on the Consolidated Public Retirement Board, and chaired the West Virginia Intergovernmental Task Force on Juvenile Justice. After practicing law with Manchin Injury Law Group, he founded Garcia Law and has since served in both the West Virginia House of Delegates and the West Virginia State Senate.
The accomplishments of the Garcia family reflect a shared commitment to service, leadership, and community involvement. Rob Garcia continues that tradition today, bringing decades of working-class experience, local government leadership, and a genuine dedication to serving the people of West Virginia. His life has been defined by hard work, family, faith, and service—values he will carry with him as he seeks to represent and advocate for the citizens of West Virginia in the House of Delegates.
